ABOUT F3 RACE CITY

Founding

F3 Race City planted its shovel flag on March 30th 2013 at Stumpy Creek Park as a sub region of F3 Lake Norman. 3 HIMs, Big Mean, Chief and Crack wanted to expand what started in the Huntersville area closer to home in Mooresville. It began with a Saturday workout at Stumpy Creek park and the region was named Race City paying homage to the nickname for the town of Mooresville. In 2021 Race City split with the Lake Norman region to become its own autonomous region. Race City hosts workouts free to all men 6 days a week throughout Mooresville as well as happy hours, coffeteria, volunteer work and CSAUP events.

Fitness

F3 workouts are free and open to all men.  The workouts are for ALL fitness levels and intended to keep the entire group together.  These workouts are led by a member of F3; the “Q” in F3 terminology (defined in F3 lexicon) and last 45 mins during the week and 1 hour on Saturday.  These workouts do not require any equipment other than gravity, workout clothes and gloves are suggested.  These workouts take place at church campuses, parking lots and public parks (locations link) throughout the Mooresville area.  Most workouts start before the sun comes up, largely because that’s the time of day when F3 guys can be most certain of being able to control their schedules.

Fellowship

While the workouts are what draws most men into the group or “PAX'' in F3 lingo, the fellowship is what keeps them here.  Most guys keep coming back for the comradery built at 5:30 in a semi-lit parking lot or “the Gloom” as we like to call it.  The most important part of the fellowship component is the “Circle of Trust” (COT).  This is where we count off, give our nickname, hospital name and age.  As a new guy or FNG (Friendly New Guy) you will be given a nickname so that you are easier to remember on your next post.  This fellowship is strengthened by coffee after workouts (Coffeteria), beers after work (HDHH), obstacle course and relay races, GORUCK events and last but not least CSAUP events.  The CSAUP - Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless - event requires weeks/months of training and likely has no reward at the end with the sole purpose to strengthen the bonds between PAX members.  These events range from 8-24hr adventure races to challenges within the Race City region and across the F3 nation

Faith

At the COT we come together arms over shoulders in a ball of man and pray.  This is not faith specific, just the belief in a power higher than yourself.  This is also an opportunity to express our gratuity to one another, ask for prayer/help and express our gratitude for the opportunity to come together and become better men; “Iron Sharpens Iron.”  As the new PAX members improve their physical fitness and improve their bonds with other men there is a desire to search for meaning and purpose.  This has spawned a weekly bible study, book studies and outreach within our Mooresville community.  We are consistently donating food to our local food bank and have teamed up with the town of Mooresville to be their labor force for those in the community that need it most.  These efforts are encouraged as a way for the PAX to exercise leadership within the community and raise the awareness of what we are trying to achieve
